The Silk Hope Ruritan Club members are dedicated to service to our Community. One of the critical needs of our Community is to insure the RED CROSS can provide local and regional hospitals with Blood to help continually improve the health care of our people. The Ruritan Club has taken on the responsibility to conduct Red Cross Blood Drives in our Community. The Silk Hope Ruritan Club has conducted Red Cross Blood Drives each year for some time now. Most years, we contribute two Drives to the Community. We have had excellent support, both from our members and their families, and from the local Community. We all see giving Blood as our duty as citizens. The construction of the new Firehouse has temporarily disrupted this critical Community Service, since the old Community Center, located in the Firehouse, was demolished along with the old Fire Station. This was the site of the Blood Drive. We have begun construction of the new Community Building, and with your help, it will be open by summer 2010! The new facility will provide more room and a better environment for future Silk Hope Ruritan Blood Drives. We expect to resume this vital Community Service by early fall 2010. Thank you for your patience during this transition. We will be looking forward to seeing you at the next Ruritan-Red Cross Blood Drive (and drawing your Blood) soon.
