- 1st Annual - Silk Hope Farm Heritage Writing Contest Silk Hope Students compete to win Savings Bonds for written essays. Read this years winning papers here. Who We AreThe Silk Hope Ruritan Club was chartered in 1954 and are members of the Ruritan National Organization. We are home to the Old Fashioned Farmers Day, held yearly during Labor Day Weekend. We sponsor Silk Hope Boy Scout Troop 911 (50+ Years Strong), as well as Silk Hope Cub Scout Pack 911, and also the Silk Hope Girl Scouts. We give out numerous Scholarships yearly, and during the holidays, we give out fruit baskets to the elderly. We also address numerous environmental and local social concerns. We have created the Silk Hope Farm Heritage Center, which contains a large array of Steam Powered Equipment, including a working Saw Mill, Door and Window Frame Shop, Electric Generator, Planer, Cotton Gin, Cotton Bail Press, and our latest addition an original 1845 Grist Mill. We have a large selection of antique farm equipment, an original log cabin ,barn, and many more items on display during our Farmers Day event. We are currently finalizing plans for a New Silk Hope Community Building that will be available for community events, weddings, meetings, and other social events. General InformationMeeting Night: Meetings are held at the Silk Hope Community Center on the second Monday night of each month at (7:00 pm during Eastern Standard Time) (7:30 during Daylight Savings Time)
